Set #2 does not have a background color assigned. Set #1 has the background color of the tessellation tree designs already assigned (alternating between green and red like the examples in this resource.) I have included 2 sets of these 11 designs. Then the individual tree pieces will be assembled into a much larger, tessellated Christmas tree made up of everyone’s individual tree pieces! This is so much fun!.Once their individual piece is finished, they will cut it out.Students will each work on an individual tessellation piece in the shape of a Christmas tree – I have included 11 designs (each fitting on a regular 8.5” x 11” piece of paper.).Speech Bubble Tessellation “We Have Something to Say” ActivityĪ full tree, as I’ve designed it, will have 25 pieces (but you can easily make many different size trees – making it great for any class size!).Bucket List Collaborative “Classroom” Bucket.“We Stick Together” End of the Year Reflective Activity.African American History “Quilt” Tessellation Poster.“We Are All Connected” All About Me Activity.OTHER TESSELLATION COLLABORATION PROJECTS: Also would make a great decoration for holiday concerts or Christmas plays! You have a lot of options to tailor the project to your particular class. I’ve done everything I can possibly do to make this a successful project – I even included a teaching video! The process is as simple as color, cut and assemble. It’s fun for kids and easy for you as the teacher. The best part is that everyone’s pieces are perfectly connected to form a class Christmas Tree. It is a great lesson for holiday season because it shows how our individuality can be combined with other people to create a greater whole.Įach student decorates, colors, and cuts out their own Christmas tree-shaped piece. It connects the individual with the group using tessellations and it has a ton of “wow factor” when complete. This project is the perfect whole-class Christmas activity.
